About Tim
Tim Kraack is a composer, teacher, and pianist based in St. Paul, Minnesota. He specializes in works for solo piano, choir, and musical theater, and his compositions have been played on stages in Minnesota and New York. He’s a founding teacher of the educational summer theater program Twin Cities Theater Camp as well the Director of Choral Activities at Saint Paul Academy, directing five different choral groups, and music directing both Middle and Upper School musicals. Tim is also the director of the SPA Community Chorale, a volunteer choir for teachers, graduates, and friends of the school. Tim has degrees in Piano Performance and Piano Pedagogy from St. Olaf College and the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana where he studied under Christopher Atzinger, Justin Merritt, Chris Aspaas, Reid Alexander, William Heiles, Christos Tsitsaros, and Joan Hickey. In 2019, Tim’s recording of the previously unrecorded “Fantasia on Air Gramachree” by American composer Benjamin Carr was featured on Spotify’s “New Classical Releases” playlist. In 2022 Tim’s first feature length musical The Logic Pit premiered on stage with Twin Cities Theater Camp. Tim’s compositions and numerous recordings can be found on his website and on streaming services.
